Many of you will be aware that there is a campaign being organised to set up a new second-level school in Dublin 8 that would be under the umbrella of “Educate Together” i.e. multi-denominational in ethos.
While most parents, I know, will already have an idea about where they are planning to send their children to second-level and are happy with the schools available to them currently, there may be some of you who would be interested in this new school.
If anyone is interested in signing the petition to have the new school set up, or in learning more about the campaign, some members of the committee will be at our school gate on Monday morning to collect signatures and answer any questions.
No parent should feel under pressure to sign; this campaign has nothing to do with our school in particular except that if this new school is set up, some of our pupils may go on to attend there.
The committee is hoping to have a similar session outside each primary school in our area over the coming weeks.
