Dear All Parents of St Catherine’s National School,
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you back for the new term, especially those of you who are new to the school, and indeed some of you who are new to the community as well.
The Parents’ Association includes all the parents in the school. A small group of parent volunteers operates as an organising committee and works on behalf the PA. We contribute to school life in the following ways:
- We organise all the after-school activities. All the money from this goes towards paying the various talented teaching and coaching staff, as well as covering other general costs incurred from the activities.
- We organise fund-raisers at various times in the year – some big, some small. All funds raised go directly to the school.
- We meet throughout the year to manage our regular annual commitments (eg. Xmas Fair), but also to consider how we might contribute to the school and wider community in new and different ways.
A huge thank you to all of those parents who have assisted us in the past. We are volunteers, all busy working ourselves, and would welcome other parents interested in getting involved. Your contributions are always extremely valued whether you want to help out at a particular event, join the committee, or have skills that you think would be of benefit to us. If you are new to the school, the PA is a great way of getting involved – and surprisingly good fun.
Wishing everyone a great 2015/16.
