Dear Parents,
Tomorrow we have the Katch-22 Theatre Company visiting and they will be presenting the pantomime “Snow White” in the school hall. As the performance will begin at 1 pm, we have asked that Junior and Senior Infants be collected at 2:20 pm tomorrow instead of 1:20 pm. So just reminding you!
The following day (Friday 18th) we are having a “Movie Day” in school and the children are allowed to bring in two treats instead of the usual “one treat only”. No huge bags of sweets though! This event replaces the cinema visit we have been doing for the last couple of years – great fun but very expensive.
Next Tuesday (December 22nd) we have our Carol Service in the Church of St Catherine and St James at 10:30 am. The children have been working very hard to learn their Christmas carols, poems and dramas for you. We think you will be knocked out! It’s always a great occasion, but seating is limited (as some of you found out at the orchestra concert!) so come early if you want a good seat.
Straight after the Carol Service the Christmas Holidays begin, so if you can’t make it to the service, do be sure that minders, creches etc., know where and when to pick the children up (the church, at about 11:30 am).
At the end of what has been a very busy term, we would like to thank you all for the support you show the school and your children. We’re fully aware that just getting a child to school dressed, fed, on time and with the necessary equipment and lunch, is a big achievement and yet almost everyone manages this almost every day. Pat yourselves on the back, enjoy the holidays with the more relaxed timetable, and see you all back on Wednesday January 6th, which is a full school day.
And….a very Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone!
Kind Regards,
April Cronin.
