Motionless

I step out into the motionless night,

Waiting for something to give me a fright.

The streets are as dark as the eye of a skull,

The only light is the round moons glow.

Is it coming? I don’t know,

I start to feel my fear flow.

Suddenly I decide to run all the way back,

But I can’t find my way for every thing’s black.

I’m terribly scared and I cannot get home,

So I decide to double check that I’m all alone.

I search behind the shifting tree,

But there’s nothing harmful that I can see.

Now I’m looking through a mortals eye’s,

And I could be slaughtered by whatever tries.

I peek behind the drifting bush,

Just to make sure that all is hush.

The coast is as clear as a shard of clean glass,

Will I survive this Halloween, for I made the last.

I step out into the motionless night,

Waiting for something to give me a fright!
