22-02-2017 School News

Dear Parents,

Hope you are all enjoying the mid-term break.

Just a couple of notices:

We will be holding auditions for our “St Catherine’s Got Talent” show during the week of the 20th-24th March. So anyone who wants to try out can start practising now. As usual, a song, comedy sketch, musical item, dance or any other entertaining act is welcome. Children can enter as individuals or in pairs or groups, and children can audition both as an individual act and a group act. As parents, please encourage your children to see it as a bit of fun rater than the first step in a glittering career!  But do encourage them – it’s great to see the confidence that even Junior Infants have in St Catherine’s to put themselves forward. Let your child know now so they can be starting to plan and practise!

There will be NO CHESS COACHING on next Monday, as I am away. However the final three matches for the A team are going ahead on Saturday March 4th in our school, from 10:30 am to about 3:30 pm. Please let me know if there is a problem – it only affects Eithne Ogbata, Dylan Madigan, Max Murphy, Matthew Whyte and Luke Donaghy. There is a team tournament the following day (Sunday March 5th) run by Alex Baburin if any of the young chessplayers would be interested – I’ll send the details in a separate email.

Don’t forget to think about your World Book Day costumes!! Friday March 3rd is the bog day for this.

Enjoy the rest of the break.

Kind Regards,
