Lots of exciting things coming up…
But first, thanks so much for your support of Biodiversity Day. The children looked amazing!

On Monday we will be having a one-off “football activity day” with FAI coaches, kindly organised by Leigh Hamilton and Aaron Shearer. Each class from 1st up to 6th will be brought down in turn to the St Catherine’s Sports Club and given some tuition in football (soccer) skills. The emphasis will be on fun and participation for all, so no child needs to feel stressed about having no footballing experience or perceiving themselves as not good at football.Read More
As you know, we in St Catherine’s are hoping to be awarded our 4th Green Flag in June 2016. The theme for this 2-year programme (2014-16) is biodiversity.
This term we have two initiatives happening in the school which we would like you to be familiar with and be involved in.
Also, if you have any expertise in the area of biodiversity and/or have ideas, please let us know. It would be wonderful to have parents on board.
Just letting you know that the school will be closed for the election on February 26th, as we are used as a polling station.Read More
St Kevin’s Hurling Club has called a public meeting over the lack of decent sports facilities and green space in our area. The club is pressing Dublin City Council to designate a significant part of the PlayerWills-Bailey Gibson site as a green space and sports grounds area.Read More
I hope the term is going well for all of you so far.
Just a few items of interest:
We have a collection box for old mobile phones, so if you have any to recycle, please send them in. Both the school and the charity Autism Action Ireland will benefit, see the attached letter from the charity for more details.Read More
