Best of luck for the first full week back, hope all goes swimmingly for you.
Just a few reminders:
We are closed early this Wednesday – 1:20 pm – for a staff meeting. Please let creches and minders know. Parents / Minders of Infants, if you could come a tiny bit earlier – say 1:10 pm if possible – we will bring out your children before the older classes and that will make it easier for them.
Children who expressed an interest in chess coaching and who got forms last week should return them tomorrow. We are starting with the senior group tomorrow (Monday) and with the second class group on Thursday of this week. All those who handed in forms last week have been accepted. Email me or drop in to talk to me in the morning if you have any queries.
Lessons officially start at 9:00 am but the children are involved in very worthwhile “settling-in” activities between 8:40 and 9:00, so do try to make it in before 8:50 if you can.
Anyone who hasn’t applied for garda vetting and who wishes to do so…it’s not too late! Call in to the office to collect a form or email me and I will put a form in your child’s bag.
Children will be doing some written homework in school this week so teachers can explain exactly how they would like it done and also so that teachers can see if there are any difficulties with the homework. So your child is not pulling a fast one if they say they got their homework done in school…for this week! Learning homework, reading etc. should still be done at home.
There are no Parents’ Association After-School Activities this week but they will be starting up soon…watch out for a letter from the PA about this.
If you are paying fees by standing order / direct debit / bank transfer, do please ask your bank to put the children’s name, or at least the family name, on the order. Sometimes they appear on our statement as “school fees” and we’ve no idea who paid them!! And thank you!
Looking forward to another great week.
