23-10-2016 PA News – Clothes Recycling

Dear Parents,

We have a clothing collection booked with Liberties Recycling for this Friday, 28th October.

They will take our used, clean clothes, sheets, towels, pairs of shoes, etcetera, from the school, so now is an excellent time for a big clear out.

The school receives a donation for every bag. These collections earn the school around €600 a year, whilst being good for the planet and helping a local charity.

Liberties Recycling sells the collected items in its shops, and even clothes that have had their day are recycled into cleaning cloths that it sells to local businesses.

They cannot take duvets or pillows, socks or underwear.

For more information on the charity please check out their website http://www.libertiesrecycling.com/

The Liberties Recycling bags will be available from the school this week. The charity will take items in other bags too, so please bring as much as you can on Thursday afternoon/ Friday morning.

Please do not try to bring any before 2.20pm on Thursday afternoon (or it will be a safety hazard).

Please Note: we have a clothes collection each term, so please bear this in mind for future clear-outs.

Supervisor needed for Junior Yoga This Monday…

We only have one parent down to supervise tomorrow; the children are only little, two are required to get them safely to the Community Sports Hall. Please may we have a volunteer?

Supervisor needed for HipHop Dance this Tuesday

Please may we have a volunteer?

A few points about football:

Please ensure all children bring enough water with them for football. It’s thirsty work, and the children don’t have access to water in the Community Centre.

Also, some parents have been overly casual about collecting children from football on time. This is not really fair on the parent supervising, or the children.

We’d like to finish with a quick reminder about our Parents’ Association meeting in The Headline this Thursday. All welcome and your support is greatly appreciated.

Best wishes,
